2. Chatting with my MSN-friends is going very well with Jabber for the amiga, but I can't send (or recieve) files to them...

3. Some People have reported that they have Problems with StrICQ and Trillian Users. Messages were not shown or only some Message were received.

4. Is it possible to import my old ICQ/AIM Buddy list or move my Jabber Rosters to another Server?

5. Is there any way to transfer files with Jabberwocky?

6. Could Jabberwocky support OpenURL for clickable URLs?

1. I have no JabberID. How can I get one ?
You can register a JabberID directly in the account window of Jabberwocky.

A JabberID has three parts: user@server/resource.

user Your username at the server
server Domain name of your jabber server.
resource optional string for representing your connection. If left empty, default resource "Jabberwocky" is used. You can have different connections to the same account with different resources. That`s handy for running different Jabber applications within one account at the same time.

It will be usefull to chosse at first a jabber server. You will find a list of different server on http://www.jabber.org.

An example: whizzkid@charente.de/home

whizzkid is your username, you has charente.de as your jabber server and use home as your resource (i.e. it`s your computer at home).

Finally choose a password and press the register gadget. When you get an error message your username is already used. Choose another one. Otherwise a window pop up to confirm your register.

This would be a transport issue, not a Jabberwocky issue. If MSN doesn't support the same file transfer method, then the agent should act as a proxy. However this will mean the server transfers the file, and most administrators would probably not want that, so I imagine the feature is not supported or is turned off on most servers.

3. Some People have reported that they have Problems with StrICQ and Trillian Users. Messages were not shown or only some Message were received.
The new version (beta) of StriCQ uses a newer ICQ protocol. Most of the ICQ Jabber Transports still use an older ICQ protocol. You can only talk one-way to StriCQ using the older Transports. Only the newer ICQv7 Transport lets you talk both ways to StriCQ. Try the Jabber server at jabber.datenbank.org. It has an ICQv7 Transport.

4. Is it possible to import my old ICQ/AIM Buddy list or move my Jabber Rosters to another Server ?
Yes. There is a webpage at https://www.jabberstudio.org/secure/jru/jru/jru.pl where you have the possibility to import your old ICQ/AIM Buddies or move your current Jabber Rosters to another Server.

5. Is there any way to transfer files with Jabberwocky ?
Yes. You can send and receive files through the Jabber service but not with other services like ICQ, AIM or Yahoo. All you need is an installed webbrowser and OpenURL.

6. Could Jabberwocky support OpenURL for clickable URLs ?
Messages support clickable URL's. The message window uses Mailtext.mcc and you can set a URL action in the MUI mailtext prefs like SYS:Utils/OpenURL %s NEWWIN.
